Meet Alexis Jones
I’m a Registered Dietitian from Maine, providing evidence-based nutrition education.
I work closely with adults and teens in both individual and group settings to help them integrate healthy behaviors into their daily life to achieve optimal health and performance. I believe that nutrition is not a one size fits all approach and I am passionate about working together with my clients to develop an individualized plan that is practical and sustainable.
My specialties include sports performance nutrition, pre- and postnatal nutrition, weight management, disordered eating, and chronic disease prevention and treatment. I became passionate about these specialties through my own experience learning how to fuel properly as a Division 1 softball pitcher, through the different seasons of life, and now as a working mother.
Sports Nutrition Background
My interest in sports nutrition began early on as I was a competitive three sport athlete in high school and was always intrigued to see how different foods impacted my performance, gut health, and how I felt. This carried onto college as I went on to play Division 1 softball at the University of Maine Orono.
My professional experience began after receiving my Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Nutrition and completing my dietetic internship to become a Registered Dietitian. Since starting my private practice and working as the sports dietitian for Colby College, I have worked with hundreds of recreational and competitive athletes, all with unique goals and nutritional needs.
